My name is Kris Levy, and I seek to become alderman of the 5th Ward during the 2023 Chicago elections. I am a resident of the 5th Ward, a father of 3 lovely daughters, and a husband to my beautiful wife. I attended elementary and high school on the south side. The University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, is my alma mater. My parents stressed the importance of family, morals, hard work, and dedication. They also believed in building community. Today, an insurance agency in the 5th Ward still stands, bearing my father’s name. I wish others to have the same opportunity. To do this, we must rebuild the 5th Ward and rebuild the South Shore.

To restore the 5th Ward to glory, I plan to address a myriad of issues. The three areas of most importance are crime, economic development and mental healthcare. Unfortunately, corruption has become a common occurrence. The crime rate in South Shore is 642 percent higher than the national average. There is a 1 in 13 chance that residents in South Shore will become victims of either property or violent crime. Business owners must do their part to prevent criminals from setting up shop outside their establishments. If they do not, they should be fined or shut down.

These are just some of the issues I plan to address in the 5th Ward with your support.
